Title: The Next "Fixing The Sheets" Project Thread
Post by: Olimar12345 on August 30, 2015, 06:33:49 AM
Okay guise, you know the drill: everyone gets one nomination and after about twelve the poll will go up. Also, if someone wants to nominate an unofficial project, I have no problem with that (just remember that this is a "fixing" project, so it will be centered around that).

I'll go ahead and re-nominate Pokémon DPP

1. Pokémon Diamond Version & Pokémon Pearl Version (Platinum too)
2. Mega Man 1 and Mega Man 2
3. Super Mario 64
4. Pokémon Gold Version & Pokémon Silver Version (Crystal too)
5. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
6. Super Mario Galaxy 2
7. Pokémon Ruby Version & Pokémon Sapphire Version (Emerald too)
8. Super Smash Bros. Melee
9. Metroid (the entire section)

Everyone gets three votes, poll goes down in two weeks.

I'd like to nominate Mega Man 1 and 2 (18 sheets total). They have both so small soundtrack, so I thought I could nominate 2 games since nominating only one game would be too small.

Honorable mention: Super Smash Bros. Melee, lot's of bad sheets but they also need lot's of editing and many needs replacements I thought.

Wait.....What about Banjo? :/

I nominate Super Mario 64.

Tobbeh: normally wouldn't allow two, but since it is pretty small I wil allow it this once.

mlf: what about banjo? It's still there too!

I know. I just thought we'd finish it before we started something else.

This still has to go through a nomination and voting period, so we have some time. Not to mention, the Banjo project isn't really being arranged anymore. (Wasn't it almost done you told me or something?)

nominating G/S/C since that one's already a work in progress anyway and therefore might be shorter than another project

Wind Waker is not so great despite being one of the most popular games on the site.

I'll suggest Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Hey, can we get DPP in on the next arrangement project as well and have like an ultimate jazzy arranging festival.

I nominate Pokemon R/S/E, since there's also a lot of sheets there that are awful and need fixing.

I'm gonna go with Super Smash Brothers Melee, I want to play so many sheets in Melee but they aren't accurate enough.

I guess I'll nominate Kirby Super Star

edit: Scratch that. Is it possible to nominate the whole Metroid section?
Title: Re: The Next "Fixing The Sheets" Project Thread

Ok, since Olimar hasn't updated the OP yet. Were up to 9 nominations now, 9th being Maelstroms "Kirby Super Star". Which means only 3 left.

Mael: Well if counting the amount of sheets, then the Metroid section has probably as much as Zelda Wind Waker. So maybe, Olimar will have to decide.

My opinion is: we probably shouldn't restrict ourselves to only nominate one game, while my nomination being an exception, because then only the games with lot's of songs arranged will be nominated, while other titles with fewer songs arranged but with poor quality might not be nominated since the project will be so short. Maybe a better rule might be to look for the amount of sheets there are, and that a nomination can be multiple games but under a common theme such as all Metroid games or the 3 first Final Fantasy games for example.

Everything I thought would be good has already been nominated so I'll just keep my mouth shut for now.

Yeah, like the Mega Man one, I'll allow an entire Metroid section project, since there aren't too many to begin with.

And where's SM3DW?

Do you think we could correlate this with the next arrangement project?
Title: Re: The Next "Fixing The Sheets" Project Thread

I might like to add, that, while I voted, I will not be here to help, as the poll ends a week after I leave.

Quote from: FireArrow on September 06, 2015, 11:47:23 AMDo you think we could correlate this with the next arrangement project?
Well, if that happens, it will most likely only happen because both are chosen as the same game individually. However, if there are just a few songs that need to be arranged for the full OST, I see no reason not to throw those in too, as was done with RBY

This is a Fixing Sheet Project, not an Arrangement Project. The project purpose is to fix bad quality sheets already on site. SM3DW only has 4 sheets on site and is thereby too small to have a whole project dedicated to it.

This is a fixing the sheets project, which fixes sheets for games that already have most of the songs on site. Arrangement projects are where SM3DW would go.

Seriously. Sometimes, I feel like this site is like controlled by a bunch of hardcore Pokémon fans with a few other Nintendo franchise fanatics living in their domain. ;D Ok, maybe I exaggerate a little.

The popularity of series on NSM:
1. Pokémon
2. Super Mario
3. Other games

I have nothing against it, but being aware of this I try arranging songs from games that other people here don't such Final Fantasy, Castlevania & Wild Arms, to contribute to some variety on the site.
