oh i overpaid by almost 100 dollars cool
You didn't overpay :P
I still think that for me, the 3DS XL >>>> any other handheld on the market.
I mean if you legit like this better than the 3DS or the XL, then yeah you overpaid.
Well after looking at it further i've decided i don't really like it :P
Ehh... No, thanks.
I really think it's a piece of crap...
It looks ugly, I mean, it's one of the ugliest consoles I ever seen.
And also, paying 130$ for a console that is far behind the 3DS, that costs only more 30$, it's just plain stupid...

How is it a piece of crap, and how is it "far behind" the 3DS? It has the same features as the 3DS, it's just not in 3D.
Yeah it's the same system just without the thing that made it unique and also a ridiculous design.
It was more than likely made because the 3D effects are only recommended for people ages 7 and up as it is, and eliminating that caters to the younger audiences, which is probably why its realease date coincides with X and Y's release date.
It's also a cheaper way for people on a budget to own the system.
I just don't understand why they make the normal 3DS at all. I hate it so much, the screen is awful and the battery life abysmal. The 3DS XL is so much better. In regards to the 2DS, it's either going to flop like the Micro or sell decently well to children under 7.

Yeah, totally agree with this. Nintendo honestly should just have gone straight to the XL. The regular 3DS doesn't even compare.
I like the 3DS. My roommate has a 3DS XL and I hate it. I hate playing with screens that big.

omfg
i just
...but the market for the 2DS is children under seven, so I don't see why everyone else is complaining. It's not geared towards us.
I mean, younger kids could snap the 3DS hinges off, so... making this looks very kid-safe and durable. I have no qualms.
My cousin is around 4 and she broke her 3DS XL's screen because she left the screen open and put something heavy on it. Unless they redo the screens to be more durable as well, it wont really help
WHO GIVES A 4-YEAR-OLD A 3DS XL

My older brother and I had a Gameboy Advance SP (both of us had one), and aside from a few scratches, they're still in pretty good condition... then again, maybe the GBA SP was made better (or kids these days are too careless!)...? :P

Uh... uh... :s

I do agree with this statement, though.
i actually dont know how old my cousin is shes been 4 for years now she just never ages
I don't know why all of you are complaining. If you don't want it, don't get it.
Nintendo can spend their money however they want, they're adults, they've earned it.

thank you maestro

Because more money.
Does this 2ds mean I have to buy pants with bigger pockets??
=_____=''
It just means that you don't buy it. Simple, right?
I don't get all the hate the 2DS is getting. As you guys mentioned, it's definitely meant to be use by younger kids and not by grown ups. Market shares guys. If it makes Nintendo earn more money, then why wouldn't they do it?
I think it deserves to be hated until it's proven that it can make profit.
it doesn't have much purpose if you already have the 3DS or 3DSXL. but may I point out how odd it is to call it the 2DS, when almost all the consoles that have existed throughout the history of video gaming have been 2D ? I think Nintendo could have done better.

No. It doesn't deserve to be hated at all.
It's a better option for kids as well as people who don't want to pay full price for a 3DS. You can get the 2DS plus two games for just a bit more than the 3DS XL costs on its own.
Kids can just have their parents turn off the 3D completely, making "the better option for kids" point kinda worthless.
The only things that I see is good in this is the lower price with bigger screens than in a normal 3DS.
This could flop easily, and in my opinion ideas that seem like bad ideas are allowed to be hated.

This (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-08-28-nintendo-we-dont-want-to-walk-away-from-3d-gaming) is a really good read. I think Nintendo is going to sell a lot of units tbh.
That's why I said "until it's proven that it can make profit."
I'm just skeptical about this, because I don't see the money difference that big of a deal.
Now all they need is a 2DS XL!!!
...

Agreed.
Pokemon X and Y: October 12th
Nintendo 2DS: October 12th
'Nuff said.
so the new generation of little kids playing pokemon begins with the 2DS?
history is about to be made

Now that would be cool. All in all it's just one big screen anyways. :P
so basically its now a wii u
and "ds" doesnt mean "dual screen" (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/ds/faq.jsp#ds) anymore
There's still two screens, so...
And you're all acting like they won't be making the 3DS anymore.
Yeah I fail to see how this is just a terrible thing, seeing as a lot of you have a 3DS already
Seriously, you're all acting like it's your obligation to buy it.
omg maestro it's a conspiracy everyone's been brainwashed into buying the 2ds
That is an extremely high quality doorstop!
But honestly, I have nothing good or bad to say about this other than the fact that I want to take like 50 of these and make them into a perfect circle, like a cake.
I'm finally seeing some sort of good use to this..
but now...i'm seeing it a little weird...looks like an mini ipad with buttons xD
Quote from: Bubbles on August 29, 2013, 02:38:48 PMand "ds" doesnt mean "dual screen" (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/ds/faq.jsp#ds) anymore
No but it was originally "Developer's System" anyways.
But yes, the one, giant touchscreen is a step in the right direction. Good job, Nintendo!
