TWG XLIII: ERMAHGERD PERKERMAHN PERERS!

The world of Pokémon houses 649 known species. You've been one of these Pokémon all your life, but have never truly realized your potential. This is why Pokémon need trainers! But be careful... it's difficult to tell amongst Pokémon and trainers whose good, and who's just downright bad!
The wolf trainer (Rocket) does not know who his/her evil Pokemon partners are. The evil Pokemon know each other's identities, but not the Rocket member's identity.

Trainers:

1. Super Cool Rocket Grunt (wolf)
2. Derpy Youngster Trainer (human)

Pokémon:

3. Evil Pokémon
4. Evil Pokémon
5. Evil Pokémon
6. Pokémon
7. Pokémon
8. Pokémon
9. Pokémon
10. Pokémon
11. Pokémon
12. Pokémon
13. Pokémon
14. Pokémon

While posting "in" in the player sign-up thread, players will also specify a generation of Pokémon (I-V). If they have no preference, they must say so. The host will then randomize all (fully evolved) Pokémon from that generation and decide who that player is.

Pokémon: Pokémon will be told what species they are with their role PM. Each Pokémon has a specific ability which no other Pokémon shares. No one knows what these powers are, but they pertain in some way to that species' uniqueness...

Trainers: Trainers can realize Pokémon potential! Each night phase, a trainer can pick a Pokémon to train, and they will be told what that Pokémon's specific ability is (the Pokémon will not be made aware of their new power by the host). Pokémon can be trained twice, with the second time enhancing that Pokémon's original ability. However, Youngster Trainer beware! Don't accidentally help a bad Pokémon, or it may come back to bite you in the end!

Regular win conditions apply

TWG: The Dangerous Flora and Fauna of Umbra

Backstory: Many years ago, the war on the planet Umbra ended. The war hero Agent 819, who single-handedly took out the dark leader UMBRA, went back to the galactic capital planet, never to return to Umbra until the year of his death... but his story is another story, not to be told here...

Umbra is quickly becoming a point of interest for tourists. The super-company Micro Budget Ships Inc. is funding a new, experimental program to safely guide boatloads of these tourists through the planet on a specific route, highlighting the major natural features.

Unfortunately for the company, the illusions still remain on Umbra, even after the evil left the planet: the local flora and fauna have gotten hungry, and weak-minded tourists are on the menu...

The Flora and Fauna; Wolves
1: Miju-maron: Master Wolf (as the Miju-marons are giant, carnivorous plants, they can't do much unless people walk right into their lairs, though this doesn't affect the role any)
2: Gialux: Wolf
3: Ryu-jin: Infective "oni" wolf. In the case that Ryu-jin is lynched, the player sends a PM to the host, "passing" the role on to another player. If the player is a wolf or tour guide, the power does not take effect. Is the only wolf who does not know his teammates.

Micro Budget Ships Tour; Humans
4: Tour Guide 1: Guardian; can guard one player per night, excluding self.
5: Tour Guide 2: Seer.
6: Tour Guide 3: Psychic; is told the number of wolves and if the red human is left in the game at the end of every day phase. This excludes the "revived" Ryu-jin.
7: Tourist: Human.
8: Tourist: Human.
9: Tourist: Human.
10: Tourist: Human.
11: Tourist: Human.
12: Tourist: Acts like a wolfsbane, except that the wolfing is redirected to another human player. Will be told he's a normal human.

Because Ryu-jin does not know who the other wolves are, and visa versa, only the first wolfing vote is accepted.
There are no special victory conditions.

This game WILL have a story, revealed between phases (both day and night), in average-sized paragraphs.

I like this game's idea, it's simple but interesting. Although I would add a rule that when guardian/seer dies, it would be told publicly they died. If Tracker dies, his power should be passed on a random human.

ninja'd =_= It says it right below the game, they don't even know they're the specials.

ninja'd again

Tracker knows his role.

Trackers very powerful for getting info, wolfs need tracker dead. Would be unfair if tracker stayed alive throughout the game.
Title: Re: TWG XLVI: Host Sign Ups
Post by: Waddle Bro on January 01, 2013, 04:15:49 PM
I disagree. Tracker only knows who was seered(guarding info doesn't matter at all), but he can't claim his role or reveal any of his information because wolves would simply kill him the next Night. That's why I suggest the things I said.
Title: Re: TWG XLVI: Host Sign Ups

No, tracker knows who someone wanted to be seer'd and guarded.

Also if it isn't mentioned the seering is revealed publicly.

Social, change Goht's colour. Make him grey or something.

Edit:
I don't like the order of phases idea and you should switch the item to being available to all players.

You should change the colour of the Swamp wolf to the colour of the humans.

Does that mean you banned me at some point? That would be pretty immature because I or FSM haven't anything wrong.

Anyways, because I want MaestroUGC to experience the joy of TWG, I'm considering making you a filler(ya know, if Maestro wants to play, I'll remove you and add him in your place), but I don't know if that would be too wrong against you. TWG XXXVIII: The Notebooks of Death

Wolves:

1. Yagami Light (master wolf,
the first time eighter he or Misa would be seer'd red (in which case he will be noticed), he can PM the host, who will sent his death note to a random normal human (not Near or Mello) to remove all death notes that wolves had temporal. The player who recieves the death note will play for the wolf team. If that player is lynched, the Death Note that that player had in his/her possession will return to Light, and all other Death Notes that were removed will return to their previous owner, if possible, otherwise, they will go to Light.
If L dies, Light will be told the Identy of Mikami, if he's still alive.
If Light dies, Mikami becomes Light (in which case he loses all his powers and obtains all powers Light has), if he's still alive. If he isn't, Misa becomes Light. A player who becomes Light will recieve a new role PM from the host, and will recieve all PM's sent to, and sent by the previous Light.)
If Light has no partners left, and he's seer'd red, he'll die instantly.)
2. Amane Misa (master wolf, will obtain seering powers if she holds a death note. The first time she would die, she survives, L dies (if he's still alive), and Light will obtain Rem's Death note.)
3. Mikami Teru (master wolf, will obtain seering powers if he holds a death note)

Humans:

4. L (Seer, will die if Watari dies. If he dies, it will be announced to the topic that L died)
5. Watari (Wolfsbane, if L dies, he'll lose his power.)
6. Near (Is told he is a normal human untill L dies. If L dies, he will obtain both seer and guardian power and will be seer'd blue. However he can only activate one of those powers each night phase)
7. Mello (Is told he is a normal human untill L dies. If L dies, he will obtain Siddoh's Death note (or steal it if it is in the possession of another player). During the Phase he recieves the note this way, he can decide to give it back to Siddoh (to do this, he must PM the host, if he does this, Siddoh's note will disapper from the game) or to keep it, in which case he can't give it to any other player. If he keeps it, he will become a solo 3rd party role. If he gives it back, he will be seer'd blue, and if he dies, Near will be told the identy of one wolf at random).
8. Human
9. Human
10. Human
11. Human
12. Human

Death Note's (Items):

Siddoh's Death Note: will be given to Yagami Light during Night phase one.
Gelus's Death Note: will be given to Amane Misa during Night two.
Rem's Death Note: will be given to Yagami Light by one of Misa's powers.

  • Any player that has a Death Note will be seer'd red except for humans that currently have a power (in other words: L, Watari as long as L is still alive, Near when L is dead and Mello when L is dead will not be seer'd red when holding a death note).
  • If a human holds a Death Note, he will gain vigi powers.
  • If a wolf holds a Death Note, he will be able to wolf. Without Death Note, a wolf team is unable to wolf. Only one wolfing goes through each night, which is the first one sent to me.
  • In order to trade a death note, both the sender and the reciever must agree.
  • Death Notes do not dissapear, except by the power of Mello.
  • If a player who holds a Death Note is wolf'd or vigi'd, the player that sent the PM to me will obtain the Death Note.
  • If a player who holds a Death Note is lynched, the player that casted the first vote will obtain the Death Note.

Wolves do not know eachother.

Also, if I'm reading Mashi's posts correctly, if I post this game here, I'm still allowed to try to host next time?

Tenth time's the charm, guys, I can feel it. WOOT accidental pun

TWG XLVI: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The Dark Lord, Voldemort, has made a comeback. Harry Potter, now in his fifth year at Hogwarts, along a group of students, has formed Dumbledore's Army to retaliate all the sudden killings that have been occurring.

THE WOLVES
Voldemort and his number one associate, Bellatrix Lestrange, are unmistakably red. However, a maliciously horrible teacher at school who holds Voldemort's ideals in high esteem, Professor Umbridge, appears from the outside as sweet and friendly, and as such will be Seer'd as green. It is the wolves' job to lower the number of remaining humans to the number of remaining wolves.

THE SPECIALS
Harry Potter, a selfless individual to the point of a fault, can guard one person per night phase from being murdered (he cannot guard himself). One of his classmates, Luna Lovegood, is particularly intelligent in a dreamy way, and can observe others well enough to understand their auras--also known as a Seer power. The Seers play for the human team.

THE HUMANS
The members of Dumbledore's Army are all risking their lives to ensure that the future remains free of terror and strife. One member of the group will be Seer'd as red due to Luna's human error. It is the human's job to eliminate all of the Wolves.

Players:
1. Voldemort (Wolf)
2. Bellatrix Lestrange (Wolf)
3. Umbridge (Wolf seer'd green)
4. Harry Potter (Guardian)
5. Luna Lovegood (Seer)
6. Student (Human seer'd red)
7. Student (Human)
8. Student (Human)
9. Student (Human)
10. Student (Human)
11. Student (Human)
12. Student (Human)

Quote from: SocialFox on January 02, 2013, 09:14:25 PMWhat about my game.
What about it? I'll tell you.  The game is overly wolf sided.  In order for humans to win, each day phase a wolf has to be lynched and on one of those days, another wolf has to be vigi'd.  This is improbable at the least.  Also if at least 2 wolves aren't killed by night 2, game's over.

Now I do like your theme, but there is 0 balance.  Wolves should only account for 25% or less of the players, so either add 3 more humans, or cut a wolf (but that would ruin the theme).  Also how does Link's vigi work?  Does he have to know both player and specific role to vigi/steal powers?  What happens if he is wrong?  If he steals a power, does he keep the vigi?  Also what's up with the asterisks after Odolwa, Gyorg, Twinmold, Darmani, and Mikau?
This is what I see right now, there are probably other things that would help too.

This is why I incorperated the game restart feature, all roles are the same and the humans have the knowledge they gained in the past game (yes, I know this destroys canon), and then gain new knowledge to win the game.

Link is Motou except that he is on the human side, he keeps the vigi when he murders someone and gains their power. If his vigi fails, nothing happens.

The astericks were there because I forgot the name of those characters and put the * there to go find the names when I had more time, I forgot to put the astericks off when I put the names on.

TheBoyWhoCriedWolf, I would suggest making the Semi Tracker not know who he is and allow all the Players to vote for its power usage as well.  And then make it a cardflip for when one of the specials die as well.
Otherwise though, it's a good game, I like it and voted for it!!!

Since my game is probably not getting any votes, I voted for SocialFox, because I like the ocarina.

However, I do have some questions about that game:

Social, what do you mean by extending the phase by two? Does that mean the phase itself is just going to be three times as long? Or does it mean that it will be followed by two the same phases (for example: Night 0, day 1a, day 1b, day 1c, Night 1 etc.)?

Also, you said Link's power works like Mutou, does that mean he can vigi multiple times during the same phase. And does that also mean that if he tries to vigi a wolf but fails to do so, he may not try to vigi that player or wolf rol anymore during that game? And if that is true, is he allowed to vigi that player or wolf role again when the game restarts?

And if he gains a power with his vigi, does he keep his vigi? And can he have multiple powers stolen at once (for example, if he has vigi'd both Darmani and Mikau does he have vigi, guard and seer power)? And if yes, can he activate all those powers during the same phase?

TWC, I think there should be a certain time when the player sign-ups thread will be opened. It is not fair to us who live in Europe that the player sign-ups go woooshh and we don't get to play the game because we were sleeping.

Shadow, each night do the Wolf's have their own wolfing?

If so that's a maximum of 3 kills in one night.. all the wolves..

They can have 2 kills each night.

For the weeping angel is it after 2 phases with noone voting they have a kill each night until voted or just 1 until another 2 phases without being voted for?

I think the wolves are over powered. Not overly but they just are a bit too much for my liking.

It's 4v10, There's too many wolves, even worse, it's just about 5v9 with the recruiting. There should usually be a third of the players wolves. There's too many in this game.

The Phase will be doubled, so if a phase went for 24 hours, it would now go for 48 hours, I'll add that to the description.

Sorry, I meant that if he sent in a role and player name and player and role correlate, that person dies. He can only vigi once per phase (So, night or day). He can freely try again if he is wrong.

When the wolves send in their wolving, some magical stuff will happen and one of the wolfings sent in will become the wolfing that night. (other than the weeping angel) No other wolfings occour.

I guess I should answer this by the best way I can.
Quote from: The Boy Who Cried Wolf on January 04, 2013, 02:23:13 PMShadow, each night do the Wolf's have their own wolfing?
WADDLE: No, that wrong spelling made me confused. xD

If so that's a maximum of 3 kills in one night.. all the wolves..
WADDLE: Remember that there are many factors that can affect the results.

They can have 2 kills each night.
WADDLE: If you're referring to Weeping Angel, that was a thing I forgot to fix in shadowkirby's game. It should be "two Day Phases in a row"

For the weeping angel is it after 2 phases with noone voting they have a kill each night until voted or just 1 until another 2 phases without being voted for?
WADDLE: "The phase counter" resets every time a vigi'ing has been made.

I think the wolves are over powered. Not overly but they just are a bit too much for my liking.
WADDLE: I disagree, the items give a significant amount of help to humans. The game requires a good strategy from the human team, that is the basic point of the game.

It's 4v10, There's too many wolves, even worse, it's just about 5v9 with the recruiting. There should usually be a third of the players wolves. There's too many in this game.
WADDLE: Your opinion. 4 wolves isn't that bad. Besides, if this game wins I'll balance this game more if needed with the help of TWC.
Conclusion: Don't worry about it.
Title: Re: TWG XLVI: Host Sign Ups
Post by: Yugi on January 04, 2013, 02:40:18 PM
I think that the wolvings should work like uprising madness. So when a wolf sends a name in, it has a 25% chance of your wolving being the wolfing above the other wolf hopefuls.

Like moving around the planet, and special effects based on the areas (like Miju-maron gets two lynching votes if you're in Palus Magna, Ryu-jin being able to change a player's lynching vote if you're in the cave inside the cavern, extra seering when above ground, etc.).

Here's why I'd rather play TBWCW's game.

QuoteFuture Sonic Screwdriver: Stores a dead player's conscience. Can be used to ask one question of a dead player. (They must answer truthfully)
Distributed randomly in Night 1.

If given to a human that person can single-handedly win the game by asking a dead wolf who their partners are.

Quote3. Cyberman - Wolf Converter

Converters are bad unless there's a really good reason to have them in a game.  If you're a human and playing great it's really disheartening to be converted!  It also makes alliances really difficult.

Quote4. Weeping Angel - Wolf Vigilante
    Special power: Blink
If no one votes for the weeping angel two phases in a row, the weeping angel can vigi any one player

The humans will almost certainly come up with a way to break this that makes the game really boring because it'll be everyone voting for the person above or below them except for one person.

QuoteTimelord: The Doctor, River Song, the Weeping Angel and Rassilon fall into this category. If they are killed, they can either regenerate(be revived), or transfer their energy into a dead player, reviving them.

This is too much power.  There are pretty much 7 wolves in this game because of the conversion and two revives.  Even if the future sonic screwdriver is used I'm not sure the humans can win.

On the bright side, Riversong's power is cool.

Yeah Verm really said what I wanted to.  You'd have to change too much about the game on the ballot for it to be balanced that, if you did make it balanced, it would be a completely different game so I wouldn't know what I'm voting for.

And no, you just ask the wolf: "What is the NSM username of every one of the wolves?"  And they can't do anything but lie (which is against the rules of this game) or make their team lose the game.

To see how is the people's reaction to that game. I personally wouldn't be able to wait to see do people like my games or not. :D It's such a self-esteem boost to see when people say "Waddle's game looks awsm".
And by the looks of this, shadowkirby hit the jackpot. ;)

Votings started though, so it kinda is.

Also that's sort of what the TWC council are for and the Questions, Suggestions and Comments or whatever thread is for.

Maybe add a few more humans (like two) to the game, and it might be more balanced... I would think...
Assuming, currently, for the first two nights/days, if no wolves are lynched, that would mean that the humans would have to lynch a wolf every day in order to win (at least for the first two days of that time period after the two previous nights/days).

You can change anything in the game at any point before the actual version of that game starts, so Waddle can change it.

Okay this really proves this is a popularity contest because most of the people who voted Waddle voted an unbalanced game, as you can see.

It may or may not be balanced now, but you voted it when it was unbalanced.

So the point you're trying to make is that it is wrong to edit your game after you voted it? ::)

EDIT:
shadowkirby's TWG XLVI: Doctor Two
    - 9 (40.9%)
SocialFox's TWG XLVI: Zelda Themed Game
    - 2 (9.1%)
TheBoyWhoCriedWolf's TWG XLVI: Have It Your Way
    - 8 (36.4%)

DID WE WON?!

I meant the general masses, Blueflower, not you or anyone else in particular.

And as for the other thing, it's just not really a good idea to get on the internet regularly in a place like this before you're 14 or at least 13 :/ That's just my opinion--besides the language and sexual possibilities, it's easy to get into situations that can be harmful.

Edit: Basically, it goes beyond being a stereotype in that one. For them I was trying to get them to calm down.

I voted for TBWCW's game, which is excellent, and because I think he'd be a fine host.

Did someone say the Dr. Who game has co-hosts and they both voted for it? That's unfair, in my opinion. But I'm probably biased.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf: Feel free to make your sign-up thread whenever you feel ready.

Thanks for being cordial about this, shadowkirby (64) and Waddle Bro. I'm sure your game will perform well in the next host sign-ups, which should have significantly less competition anyway.
