I want to know what you think the best new character to Mario Kart Wii is.  Personally, I think that Rosalina and Dry Bowser are awesome (even though i have only unlocked rosalina, not dry bowser).  What do you think.  And also, what are your opinions on the new bikes and trick system.  Finally, post your opinion on the new stages (especially the new rainbow road) along with your opinion on the bike and trick system.  Personally, I love the new bikes and trick system, and the new rainbow road is very hard.

Rosalina is a heavy...which I think is strange. My Mii makes the stupidest most pretentious sounds! As for the new tracks, I agree that rainbow road is harder (I fall off at the last corner because I forget it's there :(), and I think koopa cape is cool. But generally, I like the older tracks better to be honest

Just as a side note, when do you think that nintendo will start using the "tournament" option under the mario kart wii channel.  And btw, i think that the new ghost system is awesome, being able to play against anyone's ghost across wifi, especially viewing the top players ghost to find new shortcuts.  I found a huge shortcut using a mushroom in rainbow road

That's funny. I thought that Mario Kart Wii actually chose pretty bad Retro courses. I mean, the game has three Mario Circuits and a Mario Raceway. And what's with choosing DS Dry Dry Desert over Airship Fortress?! Airship Fortress is the best course in any of the games.

Actually the N64 Bowser's Castle is, which is why I'm incredibly happy about the final retro cup :D

Most of the choices are pretty decent though.

I agree that N64 Bowser's Castle is a very good course, but generally the courses selected were kind of lame (but not as much so as on the DS).

When Baby Daisy says her name, it makes me want to shoot myself :P It really sounds like a screwed up southern baby talking. XD

the Mii is pretty cool. i love the new rainbow road, but my favorite new stage is the one with the trees, and the Wigglers (i forget what it's called). i think tricks are overdue for the series and i'm glad the included them, and i like bikes more than karts.

Meh, tricks are just gimmicks.  The new rainbow road is really awesome though, I agree.  I like how they put a big Mario Galaxy-esque planet under it, it looks way better than the old one.

Are there tracks in the Wii version that have certain things missing from multiplayer (like the extra fireballs in Double Dash's Bowser's Castle, or the extra balloon-things in Rainbow Road)?

Yes, there are. The pipe to the left on Peach Beach was removed, obviously because its only advantage was the fact that it gave you a double item box which no longer exist. Also, many courses have things that are added.

On another note: what determines the ratings you get in Grand Prix?

The pipe is removed from the game entirely.  He is asking about things that are only not there in multiplayer races.  Also, I assume the times are what determines the ratings, because getting 60 points has gotten me both 1 star and C ratings :-\

That's rather frusterating, as the time mostly depends on how many lightning bolts/blue shells/POW blocks the computers get.

Exactly, thats why half the time Mario Kart is based on retrying the harder cups over and over again to finally get a gold cup ::)

and UGH were the big all cup challenges a PAIN IN THE ASS on mirror mode in the GCN version.

Yeah...that's what took us the longest, certainly. And what did you get? I think it was the Boo Pipes.

Although still very frusterating, the GCN wasn't as bad as the Wiis' 12 racers. My friend and I once were doing so well on the All Cup Tour (not Mirror) taht we placed last or close to last on I think it was the last three races and still came out on top. I'm not saying that the GCN Grand Prixes are easy, just not quite as ridiculous.

Also, has anyone noticed that the DS game did not include the unfair AI's? I think I beat every different cup on my first try.

yeah, MKDS was actually not cheap.

I didn't notice any CPs "skipping" around the track (i.e. inexplicably appearing in front of/right behind me) in Double Dash, though some of them went abnormally fast, often easily outstripping Bowser's big kart (name eludes me) in karts like the...red shell one, say, or Toadette's one, on long straightaways. It got kind of annoying.

Funky Kong is the best new character. hands down

pseudo, now that i finally unlocked funky kong, i completely agree that he, along with dry bones, are the best characters in the game.  However, I don't know how to unlock his most commonly used kart, which i think is the phantom (with purple and red on it).  Does anyone know how to unlock it?

The mii pisses me off because of the really wierd noises they make.

i actually had no problems on the grand prix mode i got at least 1 star my first or second tries at them.

only problem i have with the wii mario kart is that online ill be in first the whole time and the blue shells will  come on the last stretch of the last lap lol. keep in blue shells they are cool but send them earlier so i can catch back up! gosh........

maple treeway me likey likey that one its so fcking annoying that it becomes funny

i love Warios bike on Rainbow road. its has such good handling that making all those turns is easy. (well, easier)

that corection is indeed good placed cuz the new rainbow road stays annoying with evry kart or bike you us

The DD Rainbow Road was lots of fun once you'd mastered it...the 64 version, far too easy (could you fall off that thing at all?). I haven't gotten my hands on MK Wii yet, but I hope Rainbow Road is a challenge without crossing into the stupid-hard region.

Yeah, you can. If you jump at the ramp right at the start, you can fly over the railing.

So you can fall off if you try real hard. For me it was just an annoyingly long, psychedelic, headache-inducing boredom-fest.

how do u unlock the 2nd mii racer? i herd u could get it, but the only one i have is my main guy...

wtf there is even a second mii but what should it be then ??? a mii mario ???

You have to unlock ALL 32 expert ghosts in TT :)

Costumes and stats.

Mii Outfit A = Racing clothes

Mii Outfit B = Overalls for boys/Something like that for girls (Never tried it :P)

I don't really know what the difference in stats are for them... They might be the same but I don't really know...

I love how the game is called Mario Kart, but the bikes are better than the karts. I like the Maple Treeway and Koopa Cape. Rainbow Road is definately the hardest of its kind. I keep falling off there at the end because i see that tunnel of light and think that there are borders there and you can't fall off.
