Toenails scratching fine concrete, classic scratching chalkboard, and sometimes scratching paper.
-25ÂșC in winter! =P
Wait, if were talking about the bad chills... Definitely scratching a chalkboard.
I get the good chills whenever I listen to an awesome song, the song usually has to be powerful, have a good beat, etc. Example the song 'Roundabout' by Yes, when the organ solo comes in.
I was hoping this thread was talking about musical frission, those chills when you hear an amazing song (like Ragster mentioned).
For me, this does it every time: From 5:33~about 7:00 or so in this song:
I highly recommend you listen to the whole thing though...most others report chills at about 3:00
Rachmaninoff Prelude in B Minor Op. 32, No. 10
Amaziiiiing

I'll be honest, not much gives me chills...
But when there is something, it does it well:

WARNING: Not for the faint of heart
Getting your fingernail caught on a piece of fabric or blanket that when pulled yanks out the string while still being caught on your nails
And when I had braces, the thought of the same happening when caught to braces.
aiiiiiiiii
:<
Ugh... this horrible creepy thing from a tv show.

I had that happen a few times when I had braces...
Good chills: Epic music together with something epic happening
Bad chills: Balloons, I can't handle them, it's enough for me to just think about them D:

Lol I remember ghost hound. That thing was freaky!
I can't stand the sight of blood...
:o What is your greatest fear?
Any kind of bugs. I have bugofobia or something. I fear worms. And spiders. Even ants. And Metapods.
Pincherbugs or earwigs!!!!!!!!
ahhhhhh!

Not must. Nails on a chalkboard isn't all that bad. Metal utensils scratching glass plates is pretty awful though.

You dislike paradoxes? :P You linked to this page of the topic, which linked to this page of the topic, etc. :P

Nope I just pasted the address of an older thread that has the same topic. Kefka ended up merging the threads.
It's not even close to the same topic though. :/ it would better have been merged with the "Phobias" topic, or deleted altogether. "What Gives You Chills" implies something that you find amazing.
Hey you started the phobias topic XD That was the one I was thinking of but I didn't go back far enough to find it. The last post was from August 2011...this one is a bit more recent lol.

It could also mean something you find outright creepy.
The squeaking of balloons. It drives me insane! But, I'm way better than I used to be with it.

On topic: When you're sitting in bed about to go to sleep and suddenly you hear right in your ear the high pitched buzz of a mosquito :<<<

Yep; we've had that happen to us a lot these past few weeks. We ended up killing about three of them inside. X.X
The sound of styrofoam.
Man, I hate that so much.
oh GOD the sound of styrofoam is awful. I had an art project which involved styrofoam carving and it was god awful D:
I extremely dislike using portable toilets (e.g. porta potties).
Why? I have a fear that there's some bug hive dwelling at the bottom, and as soon as my droppings hit it, all the bugs will come flying up at my exposed rear.
Yes I'm serious.
Oooh no I hate bugs, a lot - I kind of... always run away from them.
Hey, I've never been stung by a bee, so... it works?
The sound of velcro...

Me too! When we're putting up Christmas decorations and we always have to pull it out of the box I can't even be in the room.

I only hate it when you rub styrofoam against styrofoam. ::)
I know a guy who gets chills from cotton balls. I have no idea why, they're so fluffy.
I get them from scratching paper sometimes, and sounds similar to nails on a chalkboard. Oh god it's hard to be on this thread without getting them every second or so. I don't even have to hear it.
I get them with music too, but it isn't always the music itself. I love it when, in an orchestra, they can get a really loud horn sound with awesome tone.
Quote from: Zunawe on September 09, 2012, 11:41:02 AMI know a guy who gets chills from cotton balls. I have no idea why, they're so fluffy.
....Me?
Cotton balls are awesome. But when they're all up in your mouth, ugh. It's terrible.
I get to experience that feeling when I get my wisdom teeth ripped out over winter break :')
It's not that bad. I got mine out at the beginning of summer. It's more annoying than anything because your mouth will refuse to stop bleeding for a week.
Gahh, wisdom teeth. I had mine taken out all 4 at once.. :o
It doesn't hurt when you're all numb (except for all that bangin pressure you feel), but after a while it starts to hurt like hell..and then it stops. But blood keeps coming out (freaking annyoning >:( ) and you can't open your mouth wide, which means that less food goes in your mouth!! :P
Eerrgh, I'm being knocked out for my surgery.... I'm not squeamish, but I am terrified of surgery and no way I would be awake for that. NO no nooooo.
And then I can spend the first few days of break moping and crying into my yogurt or applesauce or whatever I can eat
....how am I supposed to console you? "I've heard tear-flavored applesauce is delicious?" :P
Well the fact you want to console me is enough on its own? XD Tear-flavored applesauce, mmm...
Cotton balls in your mouth is nothing. When they put needles in your gums to numb it up and you get that really odd feeling where they're putting tools up into your tooth (root canal) man that is just not ok
One Direction.
Imagine you stick a tooth pick between your big toenail, and you just bang your feet on the wall. Ooohh~~ :o :o
^I got nothing from that. It would hurt like heck though.

Cringe of pain, but not chills. :P
DDDDD: If I read any more of this topic I might have to kill you all...
You guys are seriously scaring me XD I'll shut up now.

You know what particularly might give a person chills, in a literal sense? :P Being locked outside your house in a snowstorm...
Maybe I'm glad I live in a desert? :P
^Yeah, until the sun goes down (desert). I guess there's pavement still, but my point stands.
This song gives me the chills, in the best way. Just...so epic...yet so sad.
YES! Easily one of the best songs in ST. You should request it, Sheikah. :P
