So, Whats your fav. game ever?
I dont have any specific, but my favorites are: Half-Life, Half-Life 2: Ep.2, Team Fortress 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Banjo Kazooie, StarFox Adventures, Gothic II, TES4: Oblivion, WE/PES 6...
SM 64 and POKEMON BLUE
Some know this already but my favorite is definitely, without a doubt, Dark Cloud 2.
Dark Cloud 2, Sonic 2, and Jet Force Gemini.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time...
...followed closely by...
Chrono Trigger.
Both games are simply awesome.
Final Fantasy VI.
Burnout 3, JK2, Timesplitters series
Time splitters 2 and it's beasty zombies that follow you until you shoot it in the leg enough for it to die.
Yeah, YOU JUST HAD TO KILL JEFF OR WHATEVER I NAMED HIM, ALONG WITH SHIRTLESS WHITE GUY COVERED IN BLOOD
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion.
Ocarina of Time by far
I was also a big fan of FFI, II, III, IV, V....
Oh, and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
I never liked Final Fantasy...its a bit boring.. DONT KILL ME PLZ!!
>:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
I'm on the verge....
Its only because I dont like th fight system... I really dont have patience... But ive heard that the story was cool :) I also dont like very much the songs (DONT KILL ME AGAIN!!PLZ). They are bit... common and it style is too much used in other games or movies. But sill, Nobuo Uematsu is a great composer :D
HUUUURRRRGGGGHH
HHUUUUURRRRRGGGGHHHHH
Anyway, the battle system annoys you? We now have a little something called ATB.
Whats ATB? sorry for my english... its not so bad, but theres a bunch of stuff that I cant understand :P
Active Time Battle. It's the system FF uses for battling now. There's a little meter for each character that fills up in real time, and they take their turn when the meter is full. It makes battles a lot more engaging than they once were.
Well, it looks more challenging... I like challenges :D
Im thinking about buying FF XIII for X360... I think it looks better than the others...
I have to pick one?
Well I'd have to go with Tales of Symphonia for first place but some close seconds are
Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2
FF IV
Chrono Trigger
LoZ : OoT
SSBM & SSBB
Pokemon Plat.
Trauma Center UTK 2
Platinum? Really?
I also enjoyed the first Sly Cooper very much. One of the best platformers for the PS2.
Quote from: SirIngusBingus on June 22, 2009, 02:55:54 PMPlatinum? Really?
Well, at least, for the moment. The Giratina theme got me *shrug*

I still don't like the turn based battles which kind of throws me off FF so I can't enjoy it quite as much. I prefer ABS(Active Battle System).
The Tales battle system is very effective.
Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid 2 (haven't played 4), Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty: United Offensive, Pokemon Silver, Metroid Prime, The Sims...
=P.
There are a couple in there that make me question your sanity...
i always loved Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
LoZ Twilight Proncess, Super MArio Galaxy, and SSBB were also pretty cool :P

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is about the 1st American Infantry division and their battles throughout North Africa and Normandy.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3: A skatboarding game with a level maker? I think that's all that needs to be said.
You haven't convinced me.
I think COD2:Big Red One is definately the best COD game to date. Tony Hawk 3 was pretty good too. Not amazing though.
Well, I already knew
you were insane.

Well, I like those games, but they are way too far from my fav. games list
Also, I think this topic isnt about the best game ever, but your fav. game :)
They're not on my fav list either but I was just commenting on them. Another one of my favorite games is LoZ: Wind Waker.
I did enjoy playing Wind Waker, but it was a little to easy for me except *Highlight for Spoiler* Finding those freakin triforce pieces... .
It was the easiest out of the 3-D zeldas but there just something about it and its not nostalgia since I got and beat it in 06.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
-or-
Super Mario RPG
Banjo Kazooie/ Tooie, Donkey Kong country 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Sonic 3 & knuckles, Can't i just list them all?
The Final Fantasy games, favorites being IV,VI and X, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Lufia and Lufia 2, Dark Cloud 2, Pokemon Crystal, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, The Legend of Zelda games... and many more.
Either the first Super Smash Brothers or Golden Axe II. Or maybe Pokemon gold.
My favorite game ever would be The sims. All kinds of The Sims game.
And Crash Bandicoot.
I like New Super Mario Bros Wii.
Mostly because I have brothers :P
For me, it's really any sort of Pokemon game. And SSBB.
It's between Spyro The Dragon 2: Gateway to Glimmer or NHL 2000
Then we got games like SSBB, GTA:SA, Liero 1.33 etc
I wasn't born with Nintendo =P
I sure hope you guys realize that, by far, the best video games are Pikmin and EarthBound.
Wow, that's quite a difficult question. In terms of sheer playing time, I would have to say SSBM or the pokemon series.
However, there are a lot of games that have stellar stories and tell those stories in very original and innovative ways that I think deserve attention... even though I've never beaten them fully on my own. I don't have the time or money to play a lot of games, and most of what I know of certain titles comes from playthoughs or Let's Plays that I've followed online.
probably rune factory 3, harvest moon friends of mineral town, or final fantasy VI
Pokemon Black, SoulSilver, Ruby, LeafGreen, Diamond, and Mystery Dungeon all kind of have a special place in my heart, my absolute favorite probably being Black, but I think my favorite is Super Mario Galaxy 2. It was just ridiculously good.
the best video games are Pikmin and Cave Story.
Mt favourite game ver would have to be Banjo-Kazooie. I grew up with it and play it at least once a year (which is more than I can say for other games)
Other games would probably include any Pokemon game, Mario platformers, Mario Kart, Legend of Zelda and Pikmin games. SSBB is also up there. I really enjoy a game with a good sound track. It makes me less likely to quit when things get hard.
Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy series (mostly VI/IX/X but they're all great games), The Legend of Zelda series and the Pokemon series except for the 3rd gen games. Oh and Lufia. So many games I love, can't name 'em all.
My favorite game OF ALL TIME EVER IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM is Dark Cloud 2.
But other favorites included:
Pokemon Blue Version
TimeSplitters 2
Cave Story
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Shadow of the Colossus
BioShock
and Borderlands
OH! and LoZ: Wind Waker
Dark Cloud 2 <3

Lol I love Cave Story, I need to finish that. I'm at the point where you have to return to the egg corridor since the town is all abandoned and creepy.

Oh yeah, when I got to that point I thought that I missed something in the water-ride, cause I couldn't figure out where to go
I stopped playing at one of the bosses that is in there (I just didn't feel like playing anymore :/)

Lol, on my second play-through and already past that part.
BUT HOW DO YOU SAVE CURLY?
By being awesome. B)
Okay, so I wasn't able to save her in the first play through... :'(
Quote from: SuperFireKirby on July 08, 2011, 01:37:03 PMBUT HOW DO YOU SAVE CURLY?

If you didn't get it you could get the towrope and save Curly
Unfortunately I didn't. That was one of the saddest moments in my gaminghistory (no, I havn't played FF7)

Not that it would matter, FF7 is a bad game with unlikable characters.

It's not perfect, granted, but I think that's a bit harsh. I was pretty turned off by the gratuitous amount of hype that the game gets (or used to get, it seems), but after going back through it a second time there were a lot of things that I missed on a first playthrough and made me realize how many little details and neat touches were put into it. If anything, I think FF7 suffers from poor pacing, since the first act in Midgar up through the flashback sequence is terrific, and then it sort of peters out the farther you get into it.
The trouble is with separating FF7 itself from the rest of the compilation. FF7 is pretty good, but gets dragged down by all the unnecessary and badly-written fluff that gets added thanks to Advent Children and all the other games tacked onto the story.
I know they're not actually console games, but my favorites would have to be Need for Madness? and Need for Madness?! Toooo?!

Crisis Core is actually a great game and Advent Children is a good movie. The only game that's kind of meh is Dirge of Cerberus, but I personally enjoy it. Saying that they're dragging down FFVII is complete bullshit. The game was okay, but that's it. Not as brilliant as FFVI.

The only thing I don't like about the Advent Children movie is that they decided to competely erase Cloud's entire character development from the original game and made him brood and angst all over the damn place, because they thought that characterization is what players would remember more.
It's thanks to that retcon the his subsequent cameos and appearances in other games have been much of the same and he's gotten the reputation of being "emo" when that's not his character at all. Sure, in the original game he went through a period of emotional trauma but he had a very good reason for it, and a major part of his character arc was moving PAST that trauma and dealing with it rather than hiding behind illusions. Now he's all mope mope mope angst angst every time he appears in a game and I'm pretty sick of it.
I'd have to go with my good ol' buddy Pikmin 2. That game had EVERYTHING!
-meaty single player
-over 200 collectables
-gameplay so unique and fantastic, it's like nothing else
-30 challenge stages to master (score based. Get a purple flower on a stage by not losing a single Pikmin)
-encourages speed runs
I accomplished everything (including purple flowering ever challenge stage) in this game and it was worth it!

Really? Awesome! I only have EarthBound and EarthBound Zero for my NES. I'm going to get Mother 3 soon. Should I? Is it good?
Omg pikmin 2 was my life for like a month.
Me too. I CAN'T STAND THE WAIT FOR THE THIRD.
I know -.-
I'm pretty sure it will be at the next E3.
I liked Pikmin 2 for it's goofy humor. The burrowing snagret always made me laugh.
I liked the Giant Breadbug. It was by far the cutest boss.

Wait, did I miss something?
Well, I started playing Earthbound Zero 2 days ago. It's really fun actually
YOU GUYS ALREADY KNEW WITHOUT TELLING ME But it's really frustrating without quick save/load
EarthBound for my SNES, EB0 for my NES.
Glad to see the Banjo and TimeSplitters love.
Banjo was my favorite until Mass Effect 2, the indisputably greatest game ever made.
Strategy: Age of Empire 3 and Empire Earth-1
Action: Call of Duty series and Mafia series.
Forget to say
Arcade: Mortal Kombat Series.
^That's what the edit button is for.
Also, another word of advice: If there are two topics asking the same question, and one is several months old, you should only reply to the newest one. Both the bumping of an old topic and reading the same "+1" post twice is quite annoying.
Not to pick on you, but keep it in mind for the future. We all make those mistakes in the beginning.
SSBB, never old for me :P
Skyward Sword,Twilight Princess and Mario galaxy 1 and 2
Definately Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I love the gameplay, the story is incredible, the characters are unforgetable, and the music is awsome. Thumbs up to Radiant Dawn. My rating: 10/10. ;D

Number 1 is certainly Ocarina of Time. Followed by that, not in any real specific order: Pokemon Crystal, Final Fantasy VII, Heroes of Might and Magic III, LittleBigPlanet 2; just to name a few. I'd have to go through more of my gaming collection to find the rest of my favorites.
PMD: Explorers of Time. I've played through it like, 5 times now. :3
I can hardly pick favorites, even a top 5 list is hard for me. So I'll do a top 6.
- Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
- Metal Gear Solid 3
- Final Fantasy IX
- Dark Souls
- Zelda: Majora's Mask
- Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations
Guess I'll post again since it was bump'd.
Still Spyro 1/2/3, NHL 2000 and SSBB. But if I have to add a new one since last time, it's definitely Xenoblade Chronicles. The story and the effort the developers put into it never cease to amaze me
1. Pikmin
2. Crash Team Racing(mah 1st game)
3. Kirby's Adventure (NES)
4. TLoZ: Majora's Mask
5. SSBB/Uprising(both awesome)
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (as if you couldn't already guess that). I enjoy the third one also, along with the crash series. Fire Emblem has great games, along with Mario and Zelda.
I like most all of my games.

Quote from: FSM-Reapr on July 19, 2012, 06:05:08 PMHey Spyro?! Have you cleared that game 100%? I have and it took ab. 1.5 years.
I've done it twice. I have no idea how long time it took as a kid (I remember that I looked for one 5-gem in one of the farm-worlds (the one with the long runningtrack) for a looooooooooooong time), but it went really fast when I replayed the trilogy at the beginning of this year (fully completed all 3).
I don't know about you, but I think it's weird to say 100% about one of the classic Spyro-games, since all 3 of them (I think) are over 100 ;P
I have to go with all of the Professor Layton games and all of the Pokemon main series games.

LOL when I was a kid, I did that on 1st try!!! Insane skill.
Ah, old times! You had to play all the games blind! Good ol' times. Tekken 3 was also an awesome game!
My favorite game ever is silent hunter 2. its a submarine simulator.
I was going to request the main theme for sheet music but mammamiaboy already requested it.
Definetly Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Actually the whole Sly Cooper series are awesome, so they're all my favorite! Perfect music as well...

Sly 3's excellent. I have yet to finish Sly 2 and I need to find Sly 1.
Sly 1 is probably my favorite out of the whole series. You should get it. Now.
Band of Thieves was probably my least favorite of the three.

I didn't like Sly 1 out of the fact that you couldn't just walk around, free play - there was only the missions - And the bosses sucked.
Sly 4 is coming out around christmas!! Am I the only one excited? ;D
I don't have a PS3, which makes me sad. Also, Sly 4 isn't being made by Sucker Punch, which makes me sad.
