Finale has not removed the free download of Notepad 2008 from their website. The download works and a serial is provided.

There's a 30-day free trial for both Finale Notepad and Finale PrintMusic.
Well, the moment those run out you can, er, ask around.
We should update this, now that notepad 2012 is free.
